1.
Service tenets:
In
order to strengthen the cooperation among libraries,
Ming Chuan University specially allies domestic and
overseas universities’
libraries to constitute an InterLibrary Cooperation
Association in an attempt to provide reciprocal
borrowing and shared resources to achieve the goal of
sharing resources.
2.
Reciprocal borrowing means:
(A) Each
cooperative library offers a certain regular number of
library cards according to stipulations; each library
card is allowed to borrow three books for two-week
duration; renewals and reservations are not accepted.
(B)Faculties,
staff members, and students participating in the
cooperative organization are permitted to borrow books
in each library via library cards.
3.
Notices for reciprocal borrowing:
(A)Borrowers in each school are supposed to abide by
other libraries’
regulations; otherwise, borrowers’
rights will be cancelled.
(B)Borrowers should be responsible for keeping the books
well; if borrowers destroy or lose the books, they will
be taken care of in accordance with relevant regulations
of the libraries.
(C)If
borrowers lose library cards, they should make lost
application in the original unit in charge. If someone
embezzles the card, the unit in charge should deal with
it.
(D)Overdue notices will not be issued personally. If
cannot trace back the books 2 months overdue, unit in
charge should take the responsibility in accordance with
the libraries’
regulations.
(E)The
borrowed books, if emergently needed, the library can
ask for returning at any time.
(F)Schools where readers belong to should check clearly
if the borrowing records are clean; it is until then
that students are permitted to make leave-for-school
applications.
(G)Borrowers should abide by relevant regulations of
copyright.
4. In
order to execute this means smoothly, each library
should stipulate its own
relevant internal management regulations.
5. Any
unregulated items will be handled in accordance with
relevant regulations
about National InterLibrary Cooperation Association.
6. This
means will be validated after submitted to both
libraries and ratified by
administrative units; it will be the same when amending.
7. After
execution, if there is any inappropriate aspect, this
means have to be
negotiated for amendment or annulment by both sides.
